5 years already...

One evening a few weeks ago our students led our community meeting with worship, testimonies and words of encouragement. In the middle of that Donovan and Mae Palmer recognized Nikki Aldum (principal) and myself for having given over five years of service to Mercy Ships.

So, what exactly is Mercy Ships?

Mercy Ships is a Christian organization that seeks to extend the two hands of the gospel. This means that our ship offers free medical services to medically impoverished nations in West Africa, and makes available to all the teachings of Jesus.

We have 6 surgeries on board, and incredibly gifted surgeons from all over the world join us to assist those who have no hope of medical intervention, whether for a cleft lip, constricted burns, club feet, or for an 11-pound tumor.

We even have a dental clinic we set up in each location we visit, and an eye team that checks and counsels eye patients, and offers on board cataract surgery.

Have I made you curious? Why don't you consider joining us? Some come to serve as cooks, some as housekeepers, some as engineers or deck hands, and we always welcome nurses and teachers! Check us out for a few weeks or a few years.
