Missionary Teacher: Togo says good-bye

As we head out to sea, a final fishing boat waves us off, and the Togolese navy chaperones us until we are out in the open waters, a very gracious send-off.

So, what exactly is Mercy Ships?

Mercy Ships is a Christian organization that seeks to extend the two hands of the gospel. This means that our ship offers free medical services to medically impoverished nations in West Africa, and makes available to all the teachings of Jesus.

We have 6 surgeries on board, and incredibly gifted surgeons from all over the world join us to assist those who have no hope of medical intervention, whether for a cleft lip, constricted burns, club feet, or for an 11-pound tumor.

We even have a dental clinic we set up in each location we visit, and an eye team that checks and counsels eye patients, and offers on board cataract surgery.
